A strong but highly localised colony of this legally protected species is present in the region, in hedgerows. The colony is monitored annually and only a sample of records are shown. The very few older records do not appear to be related to extant colonies. Evidence would be required for records, especially if away from the known colony. It is illegal to collect or remove a specimen of this moth from the place where it has been recorded, but a photograph would be necessary for verification.
